ATLANTA — The winners of the Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta's 25th annual IMPACT Awards were announced last Tuesday, Sept. 13.

The awards ceremony honors "companies, businesses or firms doing outstanding work in the areas of volunteerism, community engagement and social impact," according to the council.

“Atlanta companies continue to lead the way when it comes to social impact and civic engagement,” said the council's executive director, Cheryl Kortemeier. “We are proud that the CVC has been celebrating the best of the best in corporate community engagement with the IMPACT Awards for twenty-five years.”

This year’s award winners include:

During the awards ceremony, the council also marked 30 years of operation. Board president Reina Jones with Delta Community Credit Union presented a "Diamond Partnership IMPACT Award" to United Way of Greater Atlanta, in celebration for their 30-years of collaboration and support.

In addition to the awards ceremony, guests heard from keynote speakers, including Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens; former mayor Shirley Franklin and journalist Rose Scott, host of WABE 90.1 FM’s Closer Look. 11Alive News anchor Cheryl Preheim served as Master of Ceremonies for the event.

Senior Director of Athlete Relations and Community Development, Shea Dawson, shared the purpose and focus of Overtime Elite. Live musical entertainment before and during the event was provided by Cari and Cool Groove. Toccara Arnold Alam of KPMG and Brittany Church or Ryan served as event co-chairs.

Service and community support were woven in throughout the IMPACT Awards program. Prior to the event, IMPACT guests participated in a service project supporting healthcare workers at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Event centerpieces included full-sized basketballs which were donated to the Mayor’s Midnight Basketball program. The council also provided non-slip socks for guests who were unable to wear soft-soled shoes to protect the basketball court. Extra socks were donated to AG Rhodes Health and Rehab following the luncheon.

This year’s IMPACT Awards were presented in partnership with Diamond Presenting Sponsor, Delta Air Lines and Host Sponsor, Overtime Elite.

Atlanta Business Chronicle and 11Alive were Platinum Sponsors, and Gold Sponsors included Cox Enterprises, Delta Community Credit Union, Drawdown Georgia Business Compact, in association with the Ray C.
